SO, what does this all mean to us surfers. The short answer is, doesn't mean fuck all unless we get sick (no surfing for you young padawn for 2 freaking weeks). However, we have been hearing some rumours that a few of the tour events are in jeopardy for the upcoming 2020 season... We know that the WSL announced that they will be cancelling / postponing the Central Japan open, which was scheduled for May 25 - 31, and the Krui Pro, scheduled for April 13–19, are no more.
That kind of sucks. The Krui pro is in indonesia, not too far from the newly added G-land tour stop, scheduled to happen June 4th - 14th. We spoke to our only tour / QS surfer (lol) Wade Carmichael to see what he thought of everything going down and his plans if everything turns to shit.

Hey Boss, just wanted to touch base with you and pick your brain on a few of the in’s and out’s of the Coronavirus pandemic we’re facing with right now. Season kicks off in a couple of weeks and I just wanted to know your thoughts on any potential interruptions / have you heard anything from the WISSL

Hey mate, yeah it’s a weird one I feel like we are very safe here in Aus from everything I’ve heard and seen but with the season kick off soon and there’s a fair bit of travel coming up which means planes and public transport makes me a little nervous. The WSL are on the same page as everyone else taking day by day with updates on the corona but we are full steam ahead for the upcoming Aus leg

Yeah for sure, travelling through other countries etc. Is there anything you’ve had to re think / schedule already? Just to be safe?
- WADE - 
Schedule wise no just because everything is changing so fast I heard today the US have cut off all incoming passengers from Europe so that’s pretty major! Who knows where we will be in a month. From my recent Wednesday night joe Rogan listening the doc on there said the worst is yet to come we have a good 3-4 months of knowing what’s gonna happen

Yeah I listened to that too, mental. We were kind of joking about it a lot at HQ here. Was good to hear from an expert some actual facts regards to this kind of stuff. The worst it definitely to come. It’s starting to look bad over in the states now with the cancelling of the NBA season.
I guess its just a wait and see for now. Have you thought of any contingency plans if the season was to be cancelled?
