Josh Kerr was just voted the 'Flight to the Flats' Champ! Thanks to Chippa Wilson for putting the video contest on. The Flight to the Flats competition was based around the rider's best air + maneuver combinations. The final was held in Bali after Kerrzy edged Mitch Coleburn. Kerr was up against tough competitors in Dylan Graves and Balaram Stack with Chippa adding his own air combo's off the record. Kerrzy's aerial talent set the bar and was chosen as the clear winner.

Congrats to Rusty team rider Josh Kerr for taking home the runner up position at the Reef Pro in El Salvador this past weekend! Kerrzy was on fire throughout the entire event, laying down some massive turns and airs in each heat to push all the way through to the finals, but in the end it was Brazilian Peterson Crisanto who ended up taking the title.
Kerr has been on a terror lately, racking up an immense amount of points and well placed finishes in both the WCT and other events. The next stop will be in Tahiti for the Billabong pro at Teahupoo taking place August 15-26 2013. Be sure to check out Josh Kerr's profile on rusty.com here, and root him on as he continues his push on the WCT tour!
The Misfit is a performance/comp board designed to be ridden a little bit shorter that works well in any conditions knee to head high.
The design has a little more area overall relative to the Redline, R1, or Bender with an emphasis on a slightly fuller front end and a wider tail block. The wider squash tail maintains extra area aft and the outline is a little straighter through the fin area, adding drive through turns.
The rocker features a relaxed entry with a fair bit of exit curve that is evenly distributed in the back half.
Bottom is a light single concave.
With the fuller outline and extra area, the board generates plenty of lift. Because of the extra back half centerline curve, there is already plenty of arc in the rail to compliment the drivier outline
A deck that is a little more domed than average and adds some extra volume while allowing the rail line to have a lean, even flow, nose to tail.
All these elements work together to make a board with a bit of skate, launch, and still carves.
Congratulations to Rusty team rider Kevin Schulz for taking home the NSSA National Airshow championship title in Huntington Beach Ca during the NSSA championships. Kevin was able to pull in the score he needed reaching into his deep bag of tricks and showing off his effortless style during his heats.
